Welcome! My name is Jonathan Greene. I am a jazz, world and classical clarinetist based in Saratoga Springs, New York.

I've performed with groups that opened for Jay Leno, Marcus Roberts, Anat Cohen, Gabacho Maroc and Rebirth Brass Band. I have played clarinet with the Albany and Glens Falls Symphony orchestras. Over the last 9 years, I've been involved in more than 24 commercially recorded works, from CDs to TV commercials (mostly on the clarinet, but also some saxophone and the mbira from Zimbabwe). I'm a graduate of Skidmore College, where I was the recipient of the Filene Music Scholarship and was a guest performer on the recital of world-renowned chamber pianist, Andre-Michel Schub.

And I've had some Youtube fame. My clarinet videos have now been viewed more than 1.4 million times.

Original world music with jazz roots, influences from West Africa, Brazil, places in between and points beyond. Recently opened for global touring groups Anat Cohen Quartet and Marcus Roberts Trio at THE BRIDGE JAZZ FEST. Heard typically performs as a quintet. I play mostly clarinet but also alto/tenor/bari depending on the needs.

Performance at EMPAC

Performed Armé Arirang for Clarinet in A and iPad at the recital of composer Mary Simoni at EMPAC in Troy, NY. I used several unique techniques: harmonics and harmonizing with my voice. The iPad was used to modify my sound.
